Overview and Quick Facts

The African Leadership Academy is a private, co-educational boarding school located in Gauteng, South Africa. The Academy is dedicated to developing the next generation of African leaders.
The Academy will bring together outstanding 15-18 year old students from all the 54 countries in Africa for an intense, two-year residential programme. These students will develop their leadership skills and receive a world-class academic education that will equip them with the skills necessary to become effective leaders on the continent. Ultimately, this will create a pan-African network of leaders who can collaborate to drive positive change across the continent.
Entry is solely based on merit, meaning a significant proportion of students will receive financial assistance. The school will open in September 2008 with a class of 100 students. The Academy will prepare its graduates to enter the world’s finest universities and will facilitate their return to Africa to play meaningful roles in developing and leading the continent.
